I recently bought a 2tb USB stick on AliExpress for around $4.
I naively thought it was new technology that I hadn’t kept up with.
So I eagerly ordered and paid for it.
Then I did some research and read some reviews and quickly realised that it could only be a fake for that price.
I tried a program called H2testw<\/a> which does a write and verify to the entire free space on the USB stick.
20 hours later it was still only a fraction of the way through – super slow which is an indicator of a fake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsequently I found a program called Chipgenius <\/a>which is a faster and much better way to test the actual capacity of a drive. It shows that the drive is 8gb NOT 2tb …<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This one is called mediatester <\/a>and is a lot faster than H2testw …<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another program that tests for a fake drive is fakeflashtest – https:\/\/www.majorgeeks.com\/files\/details\/fakeflashtest.html<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve requested a refund from the seller and will happily return it as per their return policy.
