{"id":372,"date":"2026-05-15T11:26:55","date_gmt":"2026-05-15T01:26:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/micropulse.com.au\/?p=372"},"modified":"2026-05-15T18:11:05","modified_gmt":"2026-05-15T08:11:05","slug":"copytrack-scam-followup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/micropulse.com.au\/index.php\/2026\/05\/15\/copytrack-scam-followup\/","title":{"rendered":"Copytrack scam followup"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I too have been scammed by these trolls and feel totally violated and angry as hell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019d love to see them brought down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I was scared to death with their first threat and letter of demand so thought it would be easier to just pay the Euro 350 and make them go away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But 2 weeks later they came back with another letter of demand, this time for Euro 950 for further infringement because it was still somewhere on the webserver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I scoured the webserver and deleted any copies plus I removed the backups and anything else that might give them reason to accuse me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I was so freaked out that I thought it might be better to pay the Euro 950 but I had this feeling that they would just find more reasons to send me further letters of demand until my bank account was empty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I found lots of information about asking them for proof of chain of rights plus someone suggested using ChatGPT to compose a dispute letter.&nbsp; I did, and ChatGPT wrote a fabulous, strongly worded letter.&nbsp; I opted for the strongest version of the letter asking for document proof of ownership or drop the case.&nbsp; The next day I received an email from them to say they had decided to close my case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What bastards!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Based on this backdown by them, I initiated a dispute with Paypal for the first payment of Euro 350.&nbsp; Copytrack did not contest this and Paypal refunded me the Euro 350.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So I am not out of pocket to these scammers, but it has taken it\u2019s toll in other ways.&nbsp; I didn\u2019t sleep or eat for days, totally stressed out.&nbsp; I focused all my attention on seeking answers online.&nbsp; I was tempted to hire a copyright legal firm to send a legal letter back to them which would have cost me around $2,000.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The whole experience has been absolutely horrendous and I hope someone can bring down Copytrack and Marcus Schmitt. There is a campaign run by an Indian journalist to expose CopyTrack and allow the victims to file a complaint via an online form here <a href=\"https:\/\/rmnnews.com\/2025\/11\/22\/copytracks-global-intimidation-campaign-victims-accuse-german-firm-of-extortion-and-harassment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/rmnnews.com\/2025\/11\/22\/copytracks-global-intimidation-campaign-victims-accuse-german-firm-of-extortion-and-harassment\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There must be thousands of people around the world receiving these letters of demand and paying up because they are so scared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I would love to see Copytrack brought to justice and reimburse all the innocent people they\u2019ve scammed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Copytrack are copyright trolls and scammers.
