I recently bought a 2tb USB stick on AliExpress for around $4.
I naively thought it was new technology that I hadn’t kept up with.
So I eagerly ordered and paid for it.
Then I did some research and read some reviews and quickly realised that it could only be a fake for that price.
I tried a program called H2testw which does a write and verify to the entire free space on the USB stick.
20 hours later it was still only a fraction of the way through – super slow which is an indicator of a fake.

Subsequently I found a program called Chipgenius which is a faster and much better way to test the actual capacity of a drive. It shows that the drive is 8gb NOT 2tb …

This one is called mediatester and is a lot faster than H2testw …

Another program that tests for a fake drive is fakeflashtest – https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/fakeflashtest.html
I’ve requested a refund from the seller and will happily return it as per their return policy.
